I’m Holland Shuck — owner, esthetician, and the only person you’ll see when you visit. Holland’s Beauty Spa is a private home studio in Auburn, built to deliver a genuinely luxurious skincare experience without the noise, the upsell scripts, or the rotating staff of a chain.

A private home studio is a different rhythm than a chain spa. Here’s exactly what to expect from the moment you book to the moment you leave.

You book online (or text).

Pick a service and a time on the scheduler, or text me at (253) 216-2120 if you’d rather talk it through. I confirm every booking personally — you won’t end up in a queue.

You get arrival notes and the exact address.

Once your booking is confirmed, I send a short note with the address, parking instructions, and the door to use. The studio stays discreet because the address only goes to confirmed clients.

You arrive to a quiet, prepped room.

No front desk, no waiting area, no other clients. The treatment room is already warm, the bed is ready, and the playlist is soft. You walk in, you exhale, we start.

We talk through your skin for the first five minutes.

I ask about your current routine, your concerns, and what you want today. Then I tell you exactly what I’m going to do and why — so you’re never wondering what’s next or what it’ll cost.

You receive the service and aftercare — without an upsell.

I’ll tell you what to do at home to keep the results. If a product would actually help, I’ll name it. If it wouldn’t, I won’t. You leave with results, not a shopping bag.

Questions before you book.

If you’ve never been to a private home studio before, here’s everything I usually get asked. Anything I missed — just text me.

How is this different from a chain spa?

You see me, every visit — no rotating staff, no upsell script, no second client in the next chair. The hour you book is the full hour you get, in a private treatment room I built and run myself. The result is a calmer, more personal appointment than a chain can give you, at honest pricing.

Where exactly is the studio?

It’s a private home studio in Auburn, WA (98001). To keep the space discreet and unhurried for everyone, I share the exact address and parking instructions after I confirm your booking. You’ll have everything you need before your appointment.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself. Skip the heavy makeup if you can — it saves us time during the cleanse — but if you’re coming straight from work, that’s fine too. I provide everything for the service, including a robe-and-towel setup for back treatments.

What’s the cancellation policy?

There’s a 24-hour grace period — cancel or reschedule anytime up to 24 hours before your appointment with no charge. Inside 24 hours, life happens and I try to be flexible, but late cancellations on a recurring basis may need a deposit on the next booking.

Is dermaplaning safe for sensitive skin?

For most sensitive skin, yes — dermaplaning is a gentle, surface-level exfoliation that doesn’t use chemicals or heat. I always do a quick skin check first and adjust pressure and product choices to your skin that day. If you have active breakouts, raised acne, or a recent retinol burn, we’ll postpone and pick a service that fits.

How often should I get a facial?

For most clients, every 3 to 4 weeks — that matches your skin’s natural cell turnover cycle, so each appointment builds on the last. For maintenance once you’re happy with your skin, every 6 weeks works well. I’ll always tell you honestly when you don’t need to come in yet.

Can I bring a friend or partner?

Because it’s a private home studio, I don’t have a waiting area — so a guest who isn’t being treated would be sitting in their car. If your friend wants a service too, book them right after you and you can both come together; otherwise plan to come solo.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes — gift cards are available for any service or dollar amount, and they make a thoughtful gift for someone who’d enjoy a quiet hour to themselves. Just text or email me with the amount and recipient name and I’ll send you a digital card the same day.
